Costas Vousvounis, is the Group Senior Sustainability Officer of the Eurobank Group and Chairman of the Central Credit Committees. Before that he held various roles as a Senior Advisor and General Manager in the areas of Group Risk Management, Trouble Assets Group and Group Corporate and Investment Banking since 2008 when he left his seat as Managing Director of EFG Telesis Finance, the Investment Banking Arm of EFG Eurobank Ergasias. Prior to the Eurobank Group in 2004, he was heading out of London the Corporate Investment Banking activities of Bank of America for Central Eastern Europe Middle-East and Africa and was Country Manager for Greece and Cyprus since 1998. Prior to joining Bank of America in 1988, he was a relationship manager for National Westminster Bank from 1988 to 1989 and a member of the Special Assets Group for Continental Bank from 1986 to 1988.
In his current position, he encompasses the coordination of Sustainability Strategy as well as the design and execution of Group’s Net Zero action plan. He fosters a deep understanding of sustainability principles and practices across the organization by building a culture of sustainability. Furthermore, he serves as the liaison between the Group and Market/External Stakeholders, closely monitoring industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices in sustainability and ensuring that the Group remains at the
forefront of sustainability innovation.
Costas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Athens and an MBA from the Manchester Business School.
