Alexandros Thanos
Alexandros Thanos is the Executive Director of SETE. Prior to this position, he was the Deputy Governor of the region of Central Macedonia 2022 – 2023, Head of Tourism Sector of the Region of Central Macedonia (2019-2021), Deputy Governor of Tourism and Culture of Central Macedonia (2016 – 2019) and the Regional Adviser of Central Macedonia for education, development, environment and European programs (2011 – 2016). He is a graduate of the Department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology. Mr. Thanos is also a graduate of the University of Macedonia in Business Administration and holds an MBA in Business Administration from Kingston University, specializing in Strategic Company Development.

Maria Gatsou
Maria joined SETE in 2018 as Director of Communication and in September 2020 she was promoted to General Director of the Confederation. Maria holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing Management from the American College of Greece, as well as a Master’s Degree in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey. She started the multi-year path in the communication sector in 2000. She joined the staff of V + O Communication in 2005, where she gained experience in various fields, such as tourism, shipping, real estate, retail, etc. She has a proven track record in developing and implementing strategic communication plans (media relations, public / local affairs, etc.), in crisis management, and in organizing both small and largescale events.

George Amvrazis
In 2015 George took over the position of General Manager of SETE and since September 2020 he has the duties of Advisor to the President. From 2007 he was the General Manager of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (HHF) while at the same time, from 2013 to 2018, he was Administrative Director of INSETE. Among other things, he participates in the BoDs of various Organizations (Manpower Employment Organization-OAED, Organisation of Mediation and Arbitration-OMED, Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety-ELINYAE) as a representative of the Tourism Committee and he is also member of the Executive Committee of the Economic and Social Council of Greece. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Athens Law School. George has gained noteworthy experience as a manager in multinational corporations in the areas of commerce and tourism.

Martha Kesisoglou
Martha Kesisoglou is a marketing, corporate social responsibility & sustainability and public relations executive with a career that spans 20+ years in senior managerial positions in Banking and Tourism.
In the period 2014-2021 she was Director for Wholesale Marketing, Group CSR and Group Public Relations (2014-2021) in Eurobank, one of the four Greek systemic banks, leading B2B and HNWI Marketing Strategy, Group Corporate Responsibility, and Group Public Relations for Greece, Cyprus, Luxembourg and London. Prior to that, she was Senior Manager, Press Office & Group Internal Communications at Piraeus Bank, Greece, while from 2001-2013 she was Marketing & Communications Director of NovaBank (Millennium Bank). In the period 1996-2001 Martha was the Head of Press and Communication at Athens International Airport. Martha holds a Business B.Sc. from the American College of Greece and a MA in Sociology from the University of Kent.

Kalliopi Andriopoulou
She began her collaboration with SETE in May 2016. Kalliopi Andriopoulou began her career in 1990 at Pouliadis Associates Corporation, an Information Technology Company, and continued in 1996 as a Media & Communications Representative for publishing company MOTOTECH SA,. Since 2009, she had worked as a Public Relations Director at the City of Athens Development & Destination Management Agency, which supports tourism through the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau-ACVB, the city’s official Destination Management Organization, and also Business and Social Entrepreneurship. She holds a Certificate in Public Relations and Communication from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a postgraduate diploma in Public Relations from the Athens Graduate School of Management – City College, London.

Elizabeth Vlachou
Elisabeth Vlahou started working with SETE in March 1998 She started her career as assistant F & B Manager at the Cavo D’oro Hotel (1996) an she has also worked as secretary at the International Cargo Gear Bureau (1997). In the period 1994 -1996, she studied at the Business College of Athens (BCA), Department of Hotel and Tourism Enterprises. At the same time, she obtained a Hospitality Management Diploma from the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA). She speaks very good English (Proficiency diploma, 1997), and has a good command of French.

Eleni Glava
Eleni started working with SETE in April 2002. She began her career as at ASPECT HELLAS, a firm of Business Consultants and went on to work for INFORMATION RESOURCES HELLAS (IRI). She has also gained 7 years of experience in the field of customer service in the booking department of OLYMPIC AIRLINES SA. She studied at the SELECTIKA Institute for Business Studies, Administrative Assistants Training Department and at the Galatsi OAED Professional Training Institute, Administrative and Financial Business Executives Training Department. She has a good knowledge of English (First Certificate in English, Cambridge, 1990) and she has completed her studies in Italian language (Diploma di Lingua Italiana, Italian Educational Institute,1998).

Aggeliki Karagkouni
Angeliki holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and a Master’s Degree in Services Management with a specialization in Tourism. She has been involved in various marketing and tourism projects. In the past, she worked as marketer in Johnson & Johnson Hellas and later for a boutique advertising agency, before making a switch to SETE in 2009. Since then, she has analyzed insights for “Greek Tourism 2020: proposal for a new development model” and she has focused on projects that reinforce intersectoral linkages and especially tourism with gastronomy. She can describe the needs of various stakeholders (local residents, companies, visitors, policy makers), to transfer her ideas concisely and to translate complex concepts as tourism. Since 2018, Angeliki is SETE’s Content Marketer and her main priorities are creating and distributing, through any channel -both digital and physicalvaluable, relevant, and consistent content to attract, inform and retain targeted audiences.

Angeliki Papageorgiou
With many years of experience in the field of Conference and Event Management, Angeliki started her collaboration with SETE in August 2014. She has worked as a Junior Consultant at Value Delivery Consulting Company and as a Project Executive at the C&C International Conference Department and as Events Manager at Agro-Know Technologies. In parallel with her career, she obtained the title of Certified Systemic Analyst in Project Management from the University of Piraeus. She holds a Bachelor in History & Archeology at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and a MEd Educational Leadership, Policy & Development at the University of Bristol.
