Regional Event at Ionian Islands

The second Regional Event of SETE for 2015 took place on Monday, 8 June 2015 at Corfu in collaboration with the Region of Ionian Islands. The Board of the Confederation was represented by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Andreas A. Andreadis, and Secretary General of SETE, Mr. George Vernicos. The overall aim of the event was for SETE to get in touch with the tourism entrepreneurs that operate in this region. 

During the event, SETE presented its strategic plan for the Region, INSETE and Marketing Greece talked about the results of their work until then, whereas the next projects undertaken with the collaboration of SETE’s Regional Office in Ionian Islands werte also presented.

The event was addressed by the Regional Governor of Ionian Islands, Mr. Theodoros Galiatsatos, and the Mayor of Corfu, Mr. Konstantinos Nikolouzos.

The Chairman of SETE’s Board of Directors, Mr. Andreas A. Andreadis, stated amongst others that: “We continue to actively support the Greek economy and the entrepreneurs in Greece. The Regional Office in Ionian Islands will play a significant role in the local community as a key consultant of the Region, the local authorities, the local entrepreneurship and the tourism community”.

The General Manager of Marketing Greece, Mr. Iossif Parsalis, referred to the competitive advantages of Ionian Islands and presented the detailed project plan that Marketing Greece has designed and is implementing for the Region, stating that: “We strengthen the Region with a multilevel communication strategy that includes digital advertising, public relations and web contests, promoting fascinating stories that visitors can experience at Ionian Islands”.

From his side, the General Manager of the Institute of SETE (INSETE), Mr. Ilias Kikilias, pointed out the importance of the Regional Offices of SETE and stated that: “with the Regional Office of Ionian Islands being fully active and with a series of educational programmes that have been already scheduled, it is certain that SETE has now the operational capacity to contribute holistically to the further development of Ionian Islands, with an emphasis on quality”.
